I was looking to see if you reviewed it.bizzohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11060688260180019964noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2473857081653339896.post-30029532067098910572019-07-16T17:36:09.205-04:002019-07-16T17:36:09.205-04:00Six weeks after she had her baby, ET was off to Ma...Six weeks after she had her baby, ET was off to Marfa! That's how movie making rolled in those days! ET's made a lot of good friends on film sets over the years, which speaks to her character...
"Jimmy Dean" was directed by Altman, was a play first, and gave Cher her big break... plus Sandy Dennis, Karen Black, Kathy Bates, and Sudie Bond!http://ricksrealreel.blogspot.com/https://www.blogger.com/profile/14243899548141583461noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2473857081653339896.post-36737756376597242019-07-16T13:03:15.789-04:002019-07-16T13:03:15.789-04:00No I never saw that movie. She was a good friend to many I always read. Both Jimmy and Rock were vying for her attention during filming.bizzohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11060688260180019964noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2473857081653339896.post-61277216827615988982019-07-16T08:39:04.800-04:002019-07-16T08:39:04.800-04:00This movie was a family favorite growing up.

Already so womanly. And a gift for friendship, that she was able to be friends with both Jimmy and Rock.
Ever see "Come Back to the Five and Dime, Jimmy Dean, Jimmy Dean?" Love that movie!
Cheers, Rick http://ricksrealreel.blogspot.com/https://www.blogger.com/profile/14243899548141583461noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2473857081653339896.post-2594277760489537272019-07-16T06:07:19.060-04:002019-07-16T06:07:19.060-04:00Since I am a big James Dean fan I pull out this mo...Since I am a big James Dean fan I pull out this movie every once in a while. Just last month I purchased the book "Giant and The Making of a Legendary American Film" by Don Graham. Very good book about the stars, director and how the whole town dealt with Hollywood on their territory. The hotel where they all stayed and hung out is still standing with memorabilia. A few pieces of the wooden structure facade of the big ranch house is still present but unrecognizable. This my favorite of all 3 of Dean's movies. It was driving Hudson crazy that JD was stealing every scene that and the fact they didn't get along. Hollywood made star versus The Method Actor. You can just imagine. Did you know Nick Adams did the dubbing for Dean's last scene? Dean was such a force. It always saddens me to watch this movie knowing his time was coming up. Just watching his greatness during the scene confronting Bick when he's covered in oil (look closely at the very end they use doubles for Hudson and Taylor for about 3 seconds) and also when he tells Bick he is going keep the land bequeathed to him - classic.bizzohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11060688260180019964noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2473857081653339896.post-969828221045348442017-01-06T09:29:26.103-05:002017-01-06T09:29:26.103-05:00Hi Rick - I too love Giant, and I LOVE your wonder...Hi Rick - I too love Giant, and I LOVE your wonderful essay on this beautiful movie. I agree that the age makeup was tastefully done, and carried off wonderfully by Rock and Elizabeth. Funny how both Hudson and Taylor were underrated for their fine acting and overrated for their good looks. They are both at their acting best here. I think of this performance as Elizabeth paying her dues before she became a perennial Best Actress nominee for Raintree County, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, Suddenly Last Summer and Butterfield 8 (for which she won that first Oscar).
Happy New year!
-Chrisangelman66https://www.blogger.com/profile/16471674180789592940noreply@blogger.com
